Volunteer
Let us know if you can share a little bit of your time and talent. If you are interested in volunteering on any way, please fill this form. We are always looking for helpers. As we are all moving through the school year, we need parents of all grades to help keep the PTA active and involved. If you are interested in volunteering on any of the committees below, please contact any member of the PTA board or attend a meeting and sign up. Below are a few of the committees that we currently have with a brief description. All volunteers must complete the volunteer application process. Please contact the school office for more information and/or to make sure your volunteer status is up to date.
Volunteer Opportunities
The P.A.W.S. lead will organize the parent led art program. You don't need to be an artist to do this. Just a good attitude and organization skills!

- Annual Art Show (TBD)
This show is a display of art work by classroom. The kids tour the show through out the day and there is a community showing for families.
- Box Tops Coordinator
Organizes and submits the box tops turned into the school office every couple months.
- Scholastic Book Fair (October)
This one take a village! The first week of March we host the Scholastic Book Fair where the kids can come shop (books, posters, stationery, and more!) All proceeds benefit the Ponderosa Library and each Teacher's book wish list!
- Fall Fundraiser Coordinator (September)
Main point of contact for the fundraiser. In the past we've done Charleston Wrap, Boone Supply (aka Mixed Bags), etc.
- Family Movies Nights (TBD)
Help coordinate volunteers to set up the snack bar, check in desk, etc.
- Annual PUMPKIN DECORATING CONTEST
Our Annual Pumpkin Decorating Contest is a great way to show ones artistic ability. Pumpkins are put on display in the Ponderosa Community Garden. Winners are voted on by the Ponderosa Community.
- Hospitality Coordinator
Coordinate refreshments/light snacks for several events during the school year:
Kindergarten Orientation (first day of school)
Parent/Teacher Conference Week (2 x per year: Oct/Mar)
Teacher Appreciation (works w/ PTA Board)
- Kindness Project (TBD)
This project focuses on recognizing small acts of kindness. Kids turn in slips sharing how they have been kind, and these are read throughout the month at the morning line up. They proudly wear their Kindness Ambassador stickers!
- Membership Coordinator
Be the membership cheerleader! Help promote the PTA and keep flyers updated.
- Red & Gold Ball (April)
This is our version of Prom :-) A fun and playful end of the year dance for the school community. Parents and kids get to dance the night away to a DJ and snap pics at our photo booth. Always a fun evening!
- Restaurant Takeover Coordinator
Coordinate restaurants and set dates to have a takeover where the PTA earns 15-20% back when the takeover flyer is presented.
- Serramonte "It's a Trip" Coordinator
Be the main point of contact with the Serramonte coordinator. When you turn in receipts from shopping at the mall we could earn a free field trip!
- Spring Fundraiser Coordinator (April)
Main point of contact for the fundraiser. In the past we've done Charleston Wrap, Boone Supply (aka Mixed Bags), etc.
- VIP Seating Coordinator
Manage the flyers and seating for the 3 performances where parents can donate funds to win a front row seat! This is a random drawing of names.
- Ponderosa Carnival (October)
This one takes a village too! This is held in the MUR with games, raffle, silent auction and FUN!
